Dr. Lowell's clinical and research interests are in voice and swallowing disorders. She has just completed a 3 year post-doctoral research fellowship at National Institutes of Health, National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke. Dr. Lowell's voice related research focuses on the respiratory and phonatory physiology of people with voice disorders, and physiologically-based treatment approaches. Her swallowing research includes the use of functional magnetic resonance imaging to investigate brain representation for swallowing and related tasks. |
